2. Hosting and server log files
This website is hosted by Vercel Inc. (340 S Lemon Ave #4133, Walnut, CA 91789, USA) and delivered via its global content delivery network. When the pages are accessed, the host automatically records information in server log files transmitted by your browser:
- shortened or processed IP address
- date and time of access
- page/file requested and volume of data transferred
- referrer URL and browser / operating system used
The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in a secure and stable operation of the website). A data processing agreement is in place with the host; transfers to the USA are based on the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
3. Orders and payment processing (Stripe)
When you book a check package, payment is processed by Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd. (1 Grand Canal Street Lower, Dublin, Ireland). You enter your payment details directly with Stripe; I do not receive full payment data, only confirmation and key details of the payment (amount, time, name, email, transaction/session identifier). The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (performance of the contract). Stripe’s own privacy notice applies in addition.
4. Order and invoicing data
To carry out the assignment, I store the order data (name, email address, booked package, details about your supplier from the intake form and invoicing data) in a database (Vercel Postgres, operated with Neon) and generated files such as invoices and inspection reports in file storage (Vercel Blob). These services act as processors on my behalf. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (performance of the contract) and Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR (statutory retention obligations). Invoicing-relevant data is stored for the statutory retention periods; other order data is deleted once it is no longer required for the purpose.
5. Email delivery (Resend)
Transactional emails (order confirmation, invoice, report, enquiries) and the form messages are sent via the service Resend (Resend, Inc., USA) as a processor. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR. Transfers to the USA are based on the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
6. Contact form and checklist
If you send me a message via the enquiry form, the data you enter (name, email address, description of the requested check, optionally the supplier’s city and the chosen language) is processed for the purpose of handling your enquiry (Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR).
If you request the free checklist, I process your email address solely to send you the requested PDF. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you can revoke at any time with effect for the future.
7. Contact by email and WhatsApp
If you contact me by email, your details are stored to handle the enquiry (Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR).
For contact via WhatsApp: WhatsApp is operated by Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd.; data may also be transferred to the USA. Using WhatsApp is voluntary and only one of several contact options offered; alternatively you can reach me by email or via the form.
8. Cookies and web analytics
This website sets no non-essential cookies and no tracking cookies. A technically necessary cookie is used for the session in the protected admin area; it is required for signing in and does not need consent.
For audience measurement we use Vercel Web Analytics, a cookieless analytics service provided by our host Vercel Inc. It sets no cookies and builds no cross-site user profiles; only aggregated, anonymous usage data is collected (e.g. pages viewed, referring page, approximate country-level origin, device type). No conclusions about your identity are possible. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in a data-minimising, statistical evaluation to improve the service). As no cookies or tracking are used, no consent is required.
